We Need Your Support...

Here is what the programs and services of the Postpartum Resource Center of New York, Inc. have meant to women and families and why they urge you to continue to support our efforts.

“If it weren't for the Postpartum Resource Center of New York, Inc. I don't think I'd have my daughter today, a mother of two here today.  Then what would become of her little children?” — Rosemary Cain, Grandmother

“The Circle of Caring (support group) changed my life and provided help that I could bond with my baby and for that I will be forever grateful.” — Jennifer

“Participating in the (PRC of NY) Circle of Caring program helped me feel like a human being again. I think I would have always carried a deep shame of having PPD (postpartum depression).” — Mary

“I was afraid about what was happening with my wife. What was I doing wrong?  At times no matter what I did it didn't seem to help the way my wife was feeling and I didn't know what to do!  When my wife found the Postpartum Resource Center of New York, she began to get the support that I couldn't provide and that made a tremendous difference in both of our lives!  Without that support, I don't know what would have happened.  I hope any couple or family can find the support they need from the Postpartum Resource Center of New York.” — Steve Gusmano

The Postpartum Resource Center of New York provides invaluable help and information to mothers, fathers, families, social service agencies and the medical community.  However we cannot continue to operate and grow our programs and services without your immediate financial support.  Our goal is to further empower parents and thecommunity to improve the lives of families by addressing maternalmental health and parenting with psychiatric disabilities.

What will happen if the Postpartum Resource Center of New York does not gain funding for essential services?  What if the Postpartum Resource Center of New York does not continue to exist?  The answer is that New York residents will no longer have an agency with respected experts whose sole purpose is getting women and families the help they need for prenatal and postpartum depression/anxiety and psychosis. New York will no longer have a dedicated agency that works to prevent tragedies such as those that have been highlighted in the media regarding mothers and babies.

It is critical that we have your support now so that our operations may continue now and for years to come. New York State moms, dads, their families and communities are counting on you to become apart of helping keep our valuable services available, so, please join with us now by becoming a supporter to save lives and build healthy families in your community.
